Scope and structure of shock absorbers
The shock absorber is mainly used to suppress the spring shock after the earthquake rebound and the impact from the road. Although the shock absorbing spring can filter the vibration of the road, the spring itself will reciprocate when the road is rough, and the shock absorber is used to suppress the spring jump. The shock absorber is too soft, the body will jump up and down, the shock absorber is too hard, it will bring too much resistance to interfere with the normal operation of the spring.
In the modified process on the suspension system, shock absorber hard to collocation with hard spring, and the spring stiffness and weight are closely related, so the heavier vehicles generally use hard shock absorber. A device connected to a vibrating crankshaft to counterbalance the torsional vibration of the crankshaft.
The structure of the shock absorber is a piston rod with a piston inserted into the barrel, and the oil is poured into the barrel in the cylinder. The piston is provided with a throttle hole so that the oil in the two part of the space separated by the piston can complement each other. Damping is produced when viscous oil flows through the orifice. The smaller the orifice, the greater the damping force, and the greater the viscosity of the oil, the greater the damping force.
If the size of the orifice is constant, the damping will affect the absorption of the shock when the absorber works at a high speed. Therefore, to set up a disk-shaped valve spring at the exit orifice, when the pressure change when the valve is opened, orifice opening larger, smaller damping. As the piston is two-way movement, so both sides of the piston are equipped with leaf valve, respectively called compression valve and expansion valve.
